CareerMate AI is an AI-powered career companion that helps you build resumes, cover letters, and portfolios; scan and convert documents; manage career profiles; and use productivity tools such as PDF utilities and QR features.

Depending on how you use the app, we may collect or process the following categories of information:

• Account information: name, email address, authentication details, and profile settings associated with your account (including Google Sign-In where used).
• Career profile information: personal and professional details you provide to power resumes, cover letters, and related features.
• Resume data: personal details, education, work experience, skills, projects, achievements, certifications, languages, and other resume content you create or import.
• Cover letters: cover letter content you create manually or generate with AI.
• Portfolio website data: portfolio content, project details, and related personal or professional information used to create or preview portfolios.
• Job tracking information: job application details, notes, statuses, and related tracking data you choose to save (where the feature is available).
• Interview practice data: practice responses, prompts, feedback, and related interview preparation content (where the feature is available).
• AI-generated content: text, suggestions, analysis results, and other outputs created by AI features based on your inputs.
• Files and media: uploaded documents, PDFs, images, scanned documents, annotated files, OCR text, and exported outputs.
• Device and usage information: app preferences, crash/diagnostic data (where enabled), and technical information needed to operate and improve the app.

CareerMate AI may request device permissions only as needed to provide features you use:

• Camera: document scanning, QR code scanning, and related capture features.
• Photos / Media: selecting images and documents for import, conversion, compression, annotation, and export.
• Storage / Files: importing, saving, downloading, and exporting documents, PDFs, images, and other files.
• Internet Connection: account authentication, cloud sync, AI processing, notifications, billing (where applicable), and service communication.
• Notifications: optional push notifications for updates and service messages when enabled by you.

You can manage or revoke permissions through your device settings. Some features may not work without the related permission.

We use your information to provide, operate, and improve CareerMate AI services, including to:

• Create and manage your account and profile
• Build, edit, preview, and export resumes and cover letters
• Create and manage portfolio content
• Provide AI career assistance, content generation, resume improvement, ATS-oriented analysis, and career suggestions
• Support job tracking and interview practice features where available
• Scan documents, recognize text (OCR), annotate files, and process images
• Generate, convert, compress, merge, split, protect, unlock, and otherwise process PDFs and related documents
• Generate and scan QR codes
• Save files to your device or app library and enable download/share actions
• Process optional premium subscriptions and restore purchases through the app store billing system (where applicable)
• Provide customer support and respond to your requests
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve app reliability and performance

When you use AI-powered features, the content you provide (such as profile details, resume text, job descriptions, or instructions) may be processed to generate or improve outputs. This may include resume drafting, cover letter generation, portfolio content generation, content rewriting, ATS-oriented analysis, and career suggestions.

AI outputs are generated based on your inputs and may be imperfect. You remain responsible for reviewing and editing AI-generated content before using or sharing it.

We use industry-standard security practices to help protect your personal information. Your information is processed only for providing CareerMate AI services.

Depending on the feature, data may be stored locally on your device and/or synced to secure cloud services associated with your account. Access controls, encryption in transit, and platform security measures are used where applicable.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We continuously work to protect your information, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.

CareerMate AI may use trusted third-party services to operate the app. These may include:

• Firebase / Google services: authentication, cloud database, storage, messaging, analytics/crash reporting, and related infrastructure where applicable.
• Google Play Services / App Store billing: sign-in, notifications, and in-app purchases or subscriptions where applicable.
• AI processing providers: third-party AI services used to generate or analyze content for AI features.
• Device and platform services: camera, file, sharing, and other operating-system capabilities required for core features.

These providers process information only as needed to deliver the requested services and according to their own privacy practices and applicable agreements.

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information associated with your account
• Update or correct inaccurate information in the app
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Withdraw optional permissions or disable notifications through device settings
• Export or download content you created, where the app provides export options
